Mercury (silver) fillings & MS

Amalgam fillings may be the 'silver bullet' for some.

Linda Brocato testifies before the FDA joint Medical/Dental panel how mercury from her 16 amalgam fillings destroyed her life for 20 years with repeated exacerbations and hospitalizations to the point where she was totally bedridden with multiple sclerosis (MS) and how getting her NOT 'Silver' fillings removed in 1990 has dramatically improved her life and ability to care for herself. July 28th 2009 the Dentists at the FDA chose to protect the dental industry, totally ignore the consensus of their medical experts and classified mixed mercury and silver fillings as safe for us all including women who are pregnant and small children.

Metal reactions are different for each person. I didn't have amalgam fillings though my metals were nickel, titanium that I was reacting to. I had these removed and had great results. Melisa is a company that do a simple blood test and is available in most countries. Unfortunately Australia does not have this testing available and Melisa is attempting to make health professionals aware of the test and bring it back to Australia.

Motivation

What is your motivation to read this blog?
Are you wanting to improve your life? Do you want to live? Of course! You say.

It is totally up to you! You just need to start. It will take courage and consistency.
Many people want this for themselves but don't commit to wanting to live. Sounds crazy doesn't it. I find this with so many- who have all kinds of immune system issues and even those that just want to be fit and healthy.

Many studies have proven lifestyle changes work. Many others who have successfully treated MS in this same manner have shared their testimony to the world . We have all the evidence needed to start a clean lifestyle 🙂
The following slide show is a wonderful resource to examine Lifestyle and MS and has wonderful tips throughout.

You can do it!

Is there anyone out there who has had success feel free to share in the comments.

God bless,

Fluoride & Aluminium

  • Water

  • Adult humans are 60 percent water, and our blood is 90 percent water. It is essential that we consume water for life.
  • What water are you consuming? Is it from a clean source?
  • Prior to being diagnosed with MS I was consuming tap water. After researching what was put into that water - aluminium and sodium fluoride to name a few. I wanted to understand if these were good for me and for healing for my body.
  • Sodium  Fluoride: Neurotoxin
  • Sodium Fluoride is synthetic- unnatural.
  • This is added to town water in some towns to apparently help reduce cavities, which is unproven. Also added in toothpaste.
  • Calcium Fluoride is natural and found in soil and isn't as harmful.
  • Aluminium: Neurotoxin
  • Added to some spray on deodorants, cutlery and pots and pans. Water treatment plants use Aluminium salts.
  • The following article explains why Aluminium if such a problem for the body
  • 'Neurodegenerative diseases affecting significant numbers of individuals, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis are likely to be multifactorial in their etiologies and aluminium is a potential contributor to the onset, progression and aggressiveness of these conditions. '

  • Clean water is so important for healing, be sure to know what your drinking!

Sun exposure and Vitamin D

As a teenager with very pale skin I was concerned about sun exposure and I began applying large amounts of sunscreen to my skin each day. I thought I was SunSmart by getting no sun at all.
Along with a healthy diet is sunshine exposure. I am pale so I don't stay out in the sun in too long and I wear loose clothing that covers my skin. I do not wear sunscreens. Zinc cream is a better option for myself.
My vitamin D levels were on the lower side when I had my episodes. Sunlight is the cheapest option for getting levels up. Studies are suggesting a link with vitamin D deficiency and MS.

Foods for a better brain

Many people with MS will be told they have lesions on the brain. Studies have proven that many foods can help the brain function better. In this fantastic- to the point podcast by Jim Kwik with Dr  Mark Hyman they tell us which foods we should be eating to help the brain.

Study proves Basic Breathing technique reduces inflammation

Healing the mind is just as important as feeding the body good nutrition. Our thoughts are what we become. Stress if uncontrolled will cause our body to become sick. Calming our minds in this busy world can be hard work but it doesn't have to be.
Prayer/Meditation has been known for thousands of years to heal the mind and body. Slowing down and just breathing has been proven to do us the world of good.

Here is a great study that has shown us just that!
'demonstrates that the sympathetic nervous system and immune system can be voluntarily influenced through practicing techniques that are relatively easy to learn within a short time frame.'

Quitting Processed Sugar

Quitting processed sugar is a great place to start with healing a damaged body. Choosing delicious fruits and vegetables instead of sugary snacks will make you feel so good in the long run.

It may not be easy at first as you will realise how addicted you are to these sugary choices!
Don't give up, the cravings stop after a few weeks🙂

Here is a great article to read about why you should quit.

Medication

Drugs Advised

I remember being at the neurologist after diagnosis when I had to tell him which drug treatment I would choose. It was as if there was no other alternative, I needed medicine.

Weeks prior he recommended Tysabri, as my lesions were large and that I could be in a wheelchair within a year. My husband and I looked this drug up on the net - we weren't impressed. It was actually terrifying what I was being advised to take. I was thinking how in the world would this help me? Fear gripped me and I suffered a panic attack and was taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

I ended up choosing the lesser evil. Betaseron. I needed to inject myself every second day with this medicine. The price of one month supply- 15 injections is a massive $20,000 AU. In Australia this was covered by the government and only cost about $30. That got me thinking about people in other countries that can't afford it. Also about pharmaceutical companies making a ton of money.

The maths wasn't that great for either of these drugs and there was no promise for recovery, just a slow death and heaps of side effects.

My husband would do the injections for me as I couldn't bring myself to administer them.
I received 15 injections of Betaseron and had all the side effects listed below and more!

I was done. I made a decision that I would take charge of my own health. As scary as that was I thought it was better than having side effects forever.

Infomation about Betaseron & Tysabri

Betaseron (interferon beta-1b) is an immunological agent made from human proteins used to treat relapsing multiple sclerosis(MS). Betaseron will not cure MS, it will only decrease the frequency of relapse symptoms. Common side effects of Betaseron include:
  • injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness),
  • abdominal or stomach pain,
  • constipation,
  • diarrhea,
  • upset stomach,
  • weakness,
  • muscle pain,
  • nausea,
  • swelling in your hands or feet,
  • skin rash, or
  • irregular menstrual periods.
Most patients have flu-like symptoms such as headache, tiredness, fever, chills, and muscle aches when they start Betaseron. Symptoms usually last about 1 day after the injection with Betaseron and improve or go away after a few months of continued use. Tell your doctor if you have serious side effects of Betaseron including:
  • mental/mood changes (e.g., new or worsening depression, thoughts of suicide, psychosis),
  • feeling too hot or cold,
  • unusual tiredness,
  • unexplained change in weight,
  • easy bleeding or bruising,
  • persistent nausea or vomiting,
  • pus or change in skin color at the injection site,
  • dark urine,
  • yellowing eyes or skin, or
  • swelling ankles or feet.
The recommended dose of Betaseron is 0.25 mg injected subcutaneously every other day. Starting dose is 0.0625 mg (0.25 mL) subcutaneously every other day, and increased over a six-week period to 0.25 mg (1.0 mL) every other day. Other drugs may affect Betaseron. Tell your doctor all prescription and over-the-counter medications and supplements you use. Betaseron is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Tysabri

What Are the Side Effects?
The most common ones are:
It’s possible for some people to have an allergic reactionto Tysabri. Symptoms include hivesitchingbreathing problemschest painnausea, flushing, dizziness, and rash. You’ll need to stay at your doctor’s office for about an hour after you get the drug to make sure the reaction doesn’t happen.
After the FDA first approved Tysabri, the drug's manufacturer took it off the market due to reports of a rare but serious brain infection called PML (progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy). The company introduced a program that requires everyone taking the medicine to register and to follow up every so often in order to find any possible cases of PML as soon as possible. With these safety programs in place, the drug went back on the market.
Your risk for PML goes up with the number of doses you take. It’s also higher for people who’ve taken drugs that turn down their immune systems before they use Tysabri. Because of this risk, doctors usually recommend Tysabri only for people who’ve tried other MS treatments that haven’t worked.

Study proves lifestyle changes work for MS

The medical world is beginning to see that lifestyle changes can help people with Multiple Sclerosis as the following study was undertaken with MS patients in 2013 and the outcomes were fantastic.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/22367222/

As you will read with the retreat the following was the main protocol.

'Box 1 Retreat recommendations (adapted from Li et al. [15])
Diet and supplements
Plant-based wholefood diet plus fish; minimal saturated fat
Omega-3 fatty acid supplements: 20 g a day (flaxseed or fish oil)
Vitamin D
Sunlight 15 min daily 3–5 times a week
Vitamin D3 5,000 IU daily
Aim for vitamin D level around 150 nmol/L
Meditation
30 min daily
Exercise
30 min 5 times a week
Medication
One of the disease-modifying drugs, beginning early in the
illness if possible, if required
Steroids for any distressing acute relapse'

This protocol isn't that huge to begin and what do you have to loose by trying?
I feel many diseases could be reversed with this simple plan.

I am not a doctor, so make your own decisions regarding choices.

MRI Lesions Gone

I have been asked to share my MRI's, so here they are.

This is my  MRI from 2011.
Over a five year period symptoms included: loss of taste, numbness on right side of my body, blurry vision, diplopia, extreme itchiness, extreme fatigue and I struggled with balance.

Then one year later 2012  the lesions are gone. I have been symptom free since.

I am happy to send reports of these MRI's for research sake. Please make contact if needed.

Thank you for sharing, it is helping others!

Dentistry

After deciding to take control of my own health I began digging. I started with a complete medical history. This required collecting records of anything that impacted my body in any way. This included vaccinations, relevant sicknesses and whatever I could remember. One of the biggest impact of my 30 years was dentistry. As an eight year old child I lost my front tooth, it was my second tooth so my mother and father were furious with my older sister who knocked it out with a rock.

This began my journey of countless trips to the dentist and orthodontist. First there was braces at 12 years of age, a large plate with a false tooth at fourteen years then lastly ( so I thought) at sixteen a nickel bridge. It was over and I was so relieved. I didn't want to go to a dentist again.
Fast forward to the age of twenty five, I had pain in my mouth. On closer inspection with my makeup mirror it was a massive hole in one of my teeth. Straight away I knew what had caused this. After giving birth to our second born I would go jogging and lift weights. Whilst exercising I would suck on lollies. Seems counterproductive reflecting on that now.

I was off to the dentist again this time they wanted to do a root canal. It was either this or getting it pulled. I was horrified at the thought of getting it pulled and wanted the easiest solution . Without any research on my behalf I agreed to the procedure.

At this stage I hadn't suffered any MS symptoms at all. Symptoms began six months after having this root canal procedure.

Weston Price was ahead of his time in 1922 exposing the dangers of root canals.
https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/dentistry/root-canal-dangers/

I got both my Nickel bridge and root canal tooth removed at the start of 2012. I now have a metal free plate. This was the main two causes of my MS for sure. Metal and bacteria harbouring in my body which my immune system was attacking.

Prolactin Hormone & Nerve repair

When first diagnosed with MS my neurologist informed me that I should become pregnant again as MS patients would go into remission during pregnancy. This seemed like a smoking gun to my husband and I. We soon found out that the hormone Prolactin would increase during pregnancy and is still produced whilst breastfeeding. This hormone repairs nerves!!

At the time I had just finished breastfeeding our fourth child a month previously to my diagnosis. I began breast pumping with an automated pump. Not much milk came at first, but after a few weeks I was able to easily pump while in the shower. This became my daily routine morning and night prior to metal removal then I continued a year after that.

The following link explains Prolactin a little deeper.

Treating Food as Medicine

When looking at what I ate each day I found it wasn't that healthy. I decided to change my eating habits. I needed to overdose on fresh fruit and vegetables for my body to repair on a cellular level.
Many medical studies support how certain foods repair our bodies.

I am sharing a wonderful podcast today regarding exactly this.
